Public Consultation Meeting in Parlog Panchayat

A public consultation meeting with the residents of village Parlog under Parlog panchayat was held in the Panchayat Bhawan on 06.09.2010. From SJVN side, Sh. Mukul Tirkey AGM (P&A), Sh. Baljeet Singh, Manager (P&A), Sh. Vikas Sharma, Manager (Infra), Sh. Pradeep Rawat, Sr. Engineer (Civil), Sh. Vasu Dev Sharma, Engineer (Civil) and Sh. Jagtar Singh, A.E. (Civil) were present. Prominent persons from amongst the panchayat who attended the meeting were Sh. Rama Nand, Panchayat Pradhan , Sh. Karam Dass, Sh. Hem Raj, Sh. Lal Chand and Sh. Jagdish. Pradhan, Mahila Mandal along with a good number of women also participated in the meeting. 23 hect. of private land in village Parlog is under acquisition for the purpose of job facility. Acquisition process has reached up to section –VII. Videography of structures before the construction activities in this village is under progress. The SJVN Officials explained to them about the objective of the videography, i.e., to ascertain the impacts/damages of blasting on their houses during construction phase and to determine compensation accordingly. Issues relating to employment during construction, deployment of their vehicles in the project, provision of drinking water, possibility of realignment of paths/roads through their land etc, were some of the major issues discussed during the meeting. The project authorities clarified all their queries to their satisfaction. The villagers are very keen to see the project come up in their locality and assured all co-operation to the project authority. Meeting ended with project Officials assuring them of many more such interactions with them in future.
